how long are you allowed in the usa on a passport? I know you can only be there for 90 days/visit, but how many visits or days are you allowed per year? is there a limit? for example, are you allowed as many visits as you want as long as it doesn't exceed 180 days per year and 90 days per trip? i have been searching a long time for this answer. if you know the answer plz share it with me. also, if you could tell me how you came across the answer and are sure its accurate i would appreciate it. Thanks!

Ian M is not quite correct. You need to return to you home country after 90 days before you can re-enter the US for an additional 90 days. If you go to Canada or Mexico and re enter the US, your 90 day stay began upon your first entry to the US from your home country. Any extension will be at the discretion of the Customs & Border Protection Agent.

There no limit as such.

If you enter as a tourist you can stay for 90 days. Then you could depart to Canada and come back the next day and start a new 90 days. You can do this as often as you wish.

The problem is that you cannot take paid employment, so how do you plan to finance an extended stay ?

i know that in many countries, not just usa, that they allowed unlimited entries if you've the proper travel documents, the means to support yourself, & don't break the country's law, some countries however, needs you to apply & has a valid visa before you're allowed into the country. most countries had their websites with faq's to simple questions like yours
