Truthfully, I think that these National Guardsmen were trying to be cute, in a brutal sort of way, and thought that they could get away with it, and former General Karpinski had absolutely no control over her people. There's bullies in every walk of life and it seems that some gravitated towards this MP unit. Idiots like that don't seem to realize that we have higher standards and to fall below those standards is unacceptable.

The Bush administration,Rumsfield in particular created a climate where people were encouraged to use that kind of techniques. He hinted at torture and made ridiculous statements like people need to realize we're dealing with evil people here.A ridiculous statement because no regime not even the Nazi's torture their buddies, they all say it's only to deal with the evil folk.

The CIA on the ground also encouraged and gave positive feedback to those soldiers. This whole case leaves a very bitter taste on my mouth. It's all bad,the torture itself and the way when it came out it was treated like it wasn't higher up the chain of command these atrocities started and were planned. Those soldiers were guilty and it's good they got some punishment but it's wrong they alone were punished as a scapegoat.

This was official secret American policy and the political responsible should be held accountable for their war crimes

The part of this that fails muster is the minimization. Well they didnt get thumbscrews or the rack so we should just forget it. The only parts that have been discovered are the ones in pictures. What else may have happened. The other thing that gets me is all the officers walk but the enlisted guys get all the attention.

the answer to that's confusing, yet my first answer could be Rush Limbaugh who used Abu Ghraib to create a cottage industry in indignation and thereby prevented human beings from finding out what actual occurred. do you recognize who MG Miller is? have you ever study MG Taguba's report? Do you recognize that the army (a protection stress i like and served in for 23 years) scapegoated a collection of youngsters after it have been given caught with its pants down? do you recognize that MI and contractors have been, in my humble opinion, greater in charge for what occurred at Abu Ghraib than the warriors who have been convicted in courtroom martials? (and that they--the MI and contractors--have been following training/directives from senior DOD leaders--national Command Authority in protection stress parlance) do you recognize that rapid-fours and p.c.. and a pair of noncoms are the only ones to be convicted of any crimes even even with the undeniable fact that all government comments needless to say point out that the full mess started out through fact those infantrymen have been softening up prisoners on the behest of the others reported formerly in this positioned up? Now, right here is my very final answer on your question. droop your ideals and judgments and study the comments. in case you have frolicked interior the protection stress, you will understand what I actual have been alluding to in this positioned up. If no longer, discover somebody with protection stress experience to talk with. Even the main conservative protection stress human beings i know of and study, admit that justice has yet to be served. i could prefer to function greater to this positioned up, in spite of the shown fact that it does no longer serve a pragmatic objective. check out, yet please be open and easy as you do.

Where have you been? There was no torture. There were a handfull of soldiers who abused prisoners in demeaning ways. They've been tried for their crimes and are paying the price. Let's move on now.

It's not 'torture', it's 'freedom tickling'.
And that's something that came from up high, not from the few scapegoated junior nco's who got charged.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rz7UNxnOI3M&mode=related&search=
