I think on balance the British Royal family are net contributors to the British economy. They bring in the tourists.

True, they receive a yearly allowance for disgracing their homeland with one scandal after another.
The Queen and her husband received 23 million from the government just last year. A nice allowance for their estimated net worth of over 10 billion.
