Why does a mirror invert left and right but not top and bottom?
i mean, it doesn't know that it should only invert left to right and not the other.......... so you got an explanation?

A mirror doesn't invert left and right.

If you face a mirror and hold something in your right hand, that object's reflection will still be to YOUR right.

The mistake people make with this question is they initially judge left and right with respect to themselves but judge left and right in the reflection from the point of view of their reflection. That's inconsistent! Left and Right are a relative thing.

Good Luck!

a mirror dosent invert left and right it reflects exactly what is in front of it.think of a 2 way mirror your watching someone through you see exactly whats there.writing might be backwards to you but only because your looking from the other side the same as it would be upside down if you looked through mirror hanging upside down from cieling
