I'm looking to be the favorite Aunt and came across this posting on E-Bay!

Does anyone have any experience with these kinds of sets? I know he's into building stuff. What do you think?

HEHE I am guessing you don't have childredn of your own, or they aren't old enough yet ( that's a lot of small parts to pick up lol) I would say that it would be a very neat thing for your nephew, however, you should also take into consideration things like, does he have any younger siblings? any pets that might get ahold of them ( I didn't see if that set was magnetic or not, but those are bad for dogs, and I am sure other pets that eat them) How responsible is the child? Will he pick it all up or will your brother/sister end up doing it? Also, does he get frustrated easily? That seems a little complicated, however, the age did say from 5 and up ( but that could be the seller wanting to give more of a range) I have an 8 year old and I would not buy that for her, her attention span would just not be long enough for that to be fun, and it would end up all over the place, and in the dogs' tummies.
Hope that helps! And I am sure you are already the "favorite Aunt" you are taking the time to buy something you know he will enjoy emensly... lots of "Aunts and Uncles" don't. Just buy the first thing they see. So KUDOS to you! Wish my kids were as lucky lol

My husband taught with them in an outreach program. The price seems good. If he is about building things he will like this. It can take some adult help to start for some kids but once they get the idea they seem to run with it. I have also seen them at Toy boutique stores and I believe Fry's. Just in case he gets hooked. Anyway much better than the average building set! As a favorite Aunt myself I say Good Hunting.

Nice sets but a silly way to try to become the favorite. You'll just be Miss Moneybags and the one who plays with him the most will become the favorite.

youngsters generally do not purchase themselves presents on christmas... If he have been given crimson secret diary planner, crimson hairy slippers and crimson pants and clothing, then it grow to be, as you suggested, determination of his mom and dad. it is amazingly possibly, that his mom needed a daughter and could't cope with the reality, that she had a boy. a chum of mine has a brother. He feels like a woman, has surprising long hair (8 12 months approximately too). His mom needed a daughter... it ended up like this. additionally, if he has woman buddies and performs as a hairdresser it must be, that he has solid womanizing thoughts, yet i does not sure it with sexuality. he will see on his very own while he grows into age while those wondergirls start up attracting his interest. after which the crimson will slowly evaporate too. If not, then it must be, that he will sense his sexuality, even though it is not incredibly as he will assume and starts to change his thoughts. that could finally end up not nicely. i think of it is significant to enable him be attentive to, that he could desire to constantly pay attention to his very own thoughts and not study himself and his behaviour with what different say or assume. That way he could locate what's organic for him and not what society expects from him to be organic for him (in basic terms because of the fact he likes to play with dolls). it is a extensive mistake to stereotype it this way. His mom is making his destiny incredibly problematical.. a lot of human beings will call him gay and he will start up searching for signs and warning signs inwardly, perhaps figuring out with homosexuality finally, even though, he must be heterosexual, yet his decreased self belief will make him sense like he needs to belong someplace. ending up in the main offering social team - homosexuals. (sidenote: i'm a heterosexual and not against homosexuals, i don't desire something from my placed as much as sound in that way.)

Sounds like a good idea to me! My brother had one of these sets when he was that age, and he loved playing with it. (And he was nice enough about sharing that I enjoied it as well.) He still has the helicopter he made with his kit.

Good luck with your nephew!!!
