No, I disagree. This kind of statement was made in the 1950s, and was responsible for a Comics Code, but little else. Sadly, in this day and age, comic books encourage literacy among teenagers - and if the comic books (and the Hollywood movies that usually come after) spark a little interest in History - then one can say comics have a positive influence. See any comic books by 'Jaxon' (Jack Jackson).

not really agree.
i depends on every individual, how the accepted the messages from the comic books.

not every violent books emphasize to the violent action. sometimes they just use the violent drawing to add more tense and the actual messages they're giving are about friendship or working hard to achieve dreams.

sometimes people are short-minded, or low self-constraint, and so they're using violence to get away, and the comics then worsened their way of thinking.
and maybe there are some people who likes violence and using the comics to add their moves to hurt people.

really, it depends on every individual.
