I am on nuva ring..I have been on it since the beginning of July and I am just now having side effects (I think) I took it out the 18th of this month and I started getting sore breasts and some other symptoms like headache and fatigue...I had my period, but when I inserted it back in I still have occasional soreness around my nipples. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and all negative. Could birth control effect the answer?

I dont think it messes with the results.. but the whole purpose of birth control is to make your body think you are pregnant so that you cant get pregnant.. So those side affects that you think are pregancy are really not.

i am not sure about effects of birth control, i know that pregnancy tests work by the amount of pregnancy hormones in your urine though and usually there is more present in early morning. also i know that i did heaps of tests (even at the doctors) cuz i was so nauseous with my daughter and all the tests said i was not pregnant! but i kept testing because i was so sure(and at 4 weeks it tested positive, then the ultrasound verified the age of the baby ie:4 weeks), apparently the reason it doesn't always show you are pregnant in the early weeks is because there is not enough pregnancy hormone till you are at least 4 weeks pregnant.
but.... it is entirely possible that your birth control is messing with your hormones and making you have these symptoms so i would recommend doing a test once a week in early morning till it has been at least 4 weeks since the estimated date of conception.
hope that helps you :)

No, it wont alter the results.

And the tenderness of breasts and headache can be due to the Nuva Ring itself.

No I dont think so. I think you were just expercing some side effects. But you never know. You could always get a blood test if your really worried.
