The idea of soulmates has a lot to do with reincarnation. For everything to create life you must have a male and female even things that are able to reproduce by themselves have both equipment. (And before I get yelled at this is not an anti homosexual statement I'm just trying to make a point.) Its yin and yang, two parts of a whole. Most people use the term soulmates too loosely. You have one soulmate. But you have many souls that are like your soul partner. If you don't find your soulmate in this life it is because you were meant to learn a particular lesson on your own.

Sometimes you just gel with a person and get so close without physical intimacy. I am straight and have had this with two gay guys at separate times. We were inseparable, but never touched each other. Fell out dreadfully to never speak again. I felt we were soulmates while it lasted. I know 2 straight girls who have the keys to each other's houses and all private details, like passwords, in case something happened to one of them. I have never had a connection like that, tho I do know one gal I could trust like that except she doesn't live close. I saw an Oprah show once, dealing with makeovers, where a husband dyed his wife's hair roots with a toothbrush, and I was very touched by this and thought that this was the epitome of soulmate-ism. I do know a married couple who are affectionate and never bicker and put each other first, and they have been married 47 years. It is lovely to be in their presence and I envy them. I knew a couple who were married 50 years and never fought and got on very well, but when he died I patted her hand and said to her I BET YOU MISS HIM and she said NOT REALLY!!! There was a couple on Oprah who could not help but be soulmates because when he was a child in the concentration camp, she used to feed him apples through the fence, thus saving his life. They met in their twenties on a blind date in the USA and when they realised who each other was, they got married. I think those stories where a spouse gave their spouse a kidney or body part, well they have to be soulmates, don't they?

Yes, absolutely.

How many? For must people, who never learn to love unconditionally, none. To these people, the very concept is imaginary. It will never be part of their reality.

For a few, who can make the leap, the answer is one. In their entire life they will love another adult unconditionally only once. These are the stories that seem like Fairy tales... and they do live happily ever-after.

Very occasionally there are humans who can unconditionally love more than one other. These are the exceptions which prove the rules of behavior for the rest of us. Most of us are never so lucky as to meet one like this.

What passes for soulmates is often nothing more than selfish love combined with romantic attachment. Romance never lasts. It always fades with time. Love lasts forever.

Yes, I believe there is a soulmate for everyone out there. It's a connection that if you haven't experience you can't understand it.
It goes beyond just love and chemistry, you can feel a physic connection, you can sense things that the other person is feeling . You know when they are thinking of you.

The Greeks believed that as the population expanded souls had to be split to make room for more people, therefore there would always be the perfect matching part of your soul.

I didn't think I believed in soul mates till I met my boyfriend, but we've been together over 8 years, have broken up numerous times and still we always find our way back to each other, because there is something about us.

maybe there is

...in heaven!

alright, back on earth:
I think it's really someone that's very similar to you and so can understand you. but since everyone has different background, it's difficult to find a close match. but since there are so many people on Earth, there's probably more than one. The thing is... will you ever meet that one or some?
