Because I said so.

Because there is.

Sometimes, that is just the answer.

Think about how things would be if there was no universe. I always find that thinking about that is kind of scary somehow. Just as the question of exactly what our expanding universe is expanding into... would seem like nothing, except there has to be something there or we wouldn't be expanding into it! It's at this point that you start feeling like a hamster on a wheel and your line of thinking is going nowhere....

so that is why you just accept it and say that there is a universe because there is a universe!

There is a universe because... someone.. from another universe.. from another time.. (this is what I believe) they thought.. "maybe its time for a new beginning" or something like that. and then it started. we are now here. I think its because things were so horrible in another existence. But hey, let's leave this question to science, and just live a good life, being who we are.

the mass or matter that make everything up in the known universe has to be contained, else it would cease to be. For example antimatter cannot exist in this universe, which begs the question is this the only universe, and more so are there a finite number of universes (bearing in mind the tautology here).

Evolution? But evolution doesn't really make sense. It will fall back to a God. I don't think that you will come across a real genius who could answer that question here or anywhere in the world.

The Anthropic Principle.

We have a built-in bias for observing a universe, since without one we cannot observe at all.

In other words, "Universe" is an observable state. "No-Universe" is not. If observations are possible, then "Universe." Observations are possible, therefore "Universe."

How about the world itself ?

We grow & learn,
fail & succeed,
Struggle & survive,
but we all come 2 an end, y not the earth, the 1 who provides us ?

Because if there wasn't one, I couldn't collect my paycheck next week??

In short ... we don't know .. we just have to acknowledge that we are here ... and we are part of the "universe" (a name made up by man)
