'Tis a random question, but if you suspect someone is a witch, how do you overpower them?
Are you supposed to shine bright light in their face or use mirrors? Any other suggestions?

You must be speaking of someone with such a negative outlook on life that it is affecting your life and possibly the life of other loved ones around you...Here's Your Best Remedy......"Stay Away From Them!"
A witch is not evil or vindictive....they practice earth magic and healing........but evil can reside when tolerance is not adhered to.
If you suspect negative energy around you and your loved ones, burn white candles throughout the house, which represent cleansing and clearing (you can add green candles which represent healing also). You can also burn sage and place clear quartz crystal around your home while your candles are burning...burn them for several hours a day until you feel at ease with the situation.
oh....you can also carry a dark colored or green stone (among others) as a talisman in your pocket for protection, such as black obsidian or jet, or jade. There are many others.

Here's something you might want to try it was given to me by a gypsy in romania. If you think you are under a curse.
Carry 3 bay leaves in your pocket.
or....
Draw a bath with 9 bay leaves and 3 handfuls of sea salt. Immerse yourself three times in it. It rids yourself of negative energy that might be surrounding you. That is to say if this person you think is a witch has cursed/hexed you. Carrying the bay leaves protects you from negative energy surrounding you. But as was said before: Most witches are practicers of good earth magick and wont harm you. If this person is doing otherwise just remember it returns three fold.
As for shining a bright light in their face...that won't do any good just make it hard for them to see. Hope this helps.

A mirror as they look into mirror the eyes are the windows to the Soul they will know if they are doing evil and it will reflect to them : )
Or imagine yourself being covered in a mirror so every time they look at you or send you any evil it will reflect to them
