You know, those people who will go as far as inventing a new reality, reacting on things that didn't occur, blowing things out of proportion and even go as far as accusing others of whatever suits their sick master plan just to make themselves look good or important in the eyes of others... or so they think...

I deal with them by 100% completely ignoring and not letting them into my life. If they seep into my life unexpectedly, then I do not make comments on what they comment about. I literally go as if I am unaware of what they are talking about. I make no replies, not even nod my head. I say "Hmmm" then I change the subject or walk away. They give up rather easily, many times turning their drama etc. on me, behind my back. I am mature enough that I do not care one ounce.

Ah. I have one of those, sort of... she's one of my son's oldest friends, and I've more or less known her all her life. I know, therefore, WHY she is the way she is... I think "drama queens" didn't get enough attention from their parents when it was very important that they do so. EVERYone needs to feel important. "Drama queens" simply refuse to retire quietly into the background where -apparently- they were supposed to go. These people have VERY strong personalities. Ours is a loveable, bright, kind, caring person. She just "needs" to make every story "fascinating", and to be the 'star'. I'll give her this...she's good at it! I know what you mean... I've been present when our little "queen" tells a story where I was THERE at the time! Frequently it is all but unrecognizable. When she was growing up, I would remind her that I was there, and tell her it wasn't important that she exaggerated to make the story "better". It WAS important that she knew what was true. Over the years, she has been careful to keep the truth in mind. We love her, so it's not a big deal... we shrug and say "that's just .....".
I have a LOT less patience with people I work with, or am forced to endure at parties...; I think because they aren't very good at the "story-telling". When they are good at it, no one really knows its not true, do they?
I think I always TRY to remember this is not a deliberate attempt to antagonize, but an attempt to get the attention they need.

(I WOULD, however, like 5 minutes alone with the parents!! that turned a nice, defenseless child into the attention-starved person they are today. Grrrr.... just 5 minutes....)

Remove them from your life. Drama queens are never happy enough with the drama in their own lives. They love to cause drama in other people's lives too. Stay away from them.

I married one for 10 years.
I don't understand how did i do it. We have a kid together and now I can't stand being in the same room with her for more than 10 minutes. It's like her attention seeker behavior is too much and i have to leave the room.
Now I don't even talk to her, lucky for our kid i fought for custody and i have her, so I'll make sure that she doesn't end up a drama queen like her mom.

Another good comment is that she tried the whole drama queen deal in court when we where fighting for custody and the judge didn't buy it, they now better than to fall for their drama.

Very good question talking about the drama and its confusion
Supposing the Queen does not pay rent she collects it
just standing on her Porch and we are all That is left
from her Family [the IN-Laws]
what makes you think she plans to invite Society in too her
Castle...Heck she does not even wash a Dish nor celebrates
Occasion and the hazards and expenses in that
Commotion what is a face in a crowd well too me
heck get off the lawn you are stepping on the Flowers
Now you know why they build Fences ,,
one must always learn to respect unless you are
Part of the Family NO SOLICITING please
only if you represent the [ IN -laws,,
being I have not chosen to be IDOL NOR WAIT TO BE CHOSEN

You must have met one of my family members, I see. Some people don't even realize that they do it and they tend to be the ones that NEED it in their life. While it being family, there is nothing that can be done but try to ignore. Beings friends, you say your piece and if that doesn't work, end the friendship. I am they type, as you know, that can NOT stand for drama.

Generally just let myself not be apart of their life. I make a desicion that I do not need that individual or any of his/her real and/or percieved baggage in my life. The rest is just following through, which isn't hard, once you realize how retarded drama queens are. Ignorance can be bliss.

I tell them to stop being a drama queen and that I'm not listening to them or taking them seriously until they're calm, rational and realistic.
