I was just interested to know why the American government does not help Soldiers with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?

edit: I'm from Canada, I saw this documentary on CBC, I don't argue between Republican and Liberal , as it's not my business. Yes many commit suicide from all over the world, I'm only wanting information as to the Soldiers. I would hope that when they come home they would have the help available and not turn into another Vietnam where they were left and not respected.

And yes Canada's doors are open , and as we did in the Vietnam war we are accepting soldiers as well from the Iraq war.

This happens in every war, and for the record, people commit suicide on a daily basis all over the world. That so called documentary had an apparent antiwar agenda and highlighted a condition that was in fact statistically normal.

that number translates into a rate of suicide lower than the nation average of suicides.

So what is the story here?

Less likely to kill yourself if you were in Iraq than if you were never there

oh puhlease. i deal with the va and other social service organizations on a daily basis concerning similar situations...there are PLENTY of help programs in place. the problem is getting people to access them. its hard for anyone to admit they need help...and ESPECIALLY A LIBERAL...
