is there an alternative to going to your local, put the football coupon on, a few beers and solving all the worlds problems.
All this in just one afternoon???

Not going to the pub, not doing the pools and not getting pissed and battering the missus, yes there is an alternative to the boring lemmings that spend all saturday in the boozer, backing a horse because someone you never met says he knows someone at the stable. Grow up, get a life take your kids out somewhere for the day.

Yes, there are people to meet who don't frequent bars, who may expand your personal world so you can have a better perspective on how to save the world. Some of them have curves and a brain.
Yes, because the reason many people go to pubs is to socialize, not to save the world. They go to pass on their worries to the group and thus feel more secure in themselves.
No, because a good group of close aquaintences, broad highway comrades, and a few close friends all hoisting brewskies while watching mild professional & semi-professional (collegiate) mayhem is hard to beat for lifting spirits and gaining personal perspective.

Of course there is - you have wasted your life.

- Meet up with some friends for a quick game of War hammer / Dungeons & Dragons.

- Come home, spend a bit of time on Yahoo answers.

- Order a pizza.

- Play a bit for Halo 3 (Or if you so feel, on the computer for Word of War Craft)

- Pizza arrive eat it while watching a Sci-fi DVD

- Round to a friends house for an "Dr Who" "Space 1999" "Blakes 7" evening.

- Back home & to bed before reading the latest Spider-Man Graphic novel.

(if you a have a hot sci-fi nerd girl who is doing all of the above with you spend the time before you eventually go to sleep - well - you know ..............or if you are on your own I understand Nigella Lawson has a late show SAY NO MORE !!!!!!!)

You need to give up this football obsessed life style you have - its unhealthy and weird.

Now if you'll excuse me I have to laminate my life size carboard cut out of 'Buffy the Vampire Slay' so it does not fall apart in the shower.

Go to the theatre occasionally, with friends; then you would have something interesting to talk about, instead of the rubbish which is usually talked about, in pubs.
