It was recently my Grandparent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. My Grandfather use to be the Guardian of Lake Manapouri so my Grandparents are pretty friendly with Real Journeys and Merdian Energy.

We were all lucky enough to have a private tour of the Te Anau Glow Worm Cave and a boat trip out on Milford Sound.

It was really amazing and we saw Fiordland Crested Penguins and Seals but no dolphins! I was so gutted!

Is it normal to not see them? Has anyone else done these trips and enjoyed them?

It was a shame you didn't see them, but you have seen a lot of other wonderful things to remember for years to come.
I am a little envious.

In Blenheim there is a little warbirds museum, mainly WWI planes. Most are owned by the director (Lord of the Rings) Peter Jackson and the Weta workshop have helped make quite lifelike scenes. If you like planes. You can also skydive from one island to another (eg Take off in the North Island and land in the South Island) You can also go to Stewart Island which is suppposed to be pretty cool. If you like there are tramps you can do as well as lots of walks in a variety of places. You do have a lot of things to do and you have covered the main things to offer, but each place has other little bits and pieces of interest....it depends on what you like.

I have never been over there, but I do recall seeing them when I was on the Cook Strait ferry.
