They are a terrible pain, I hate squirrels, they are just rats with good PR.
When you replant you bulbs put some wire netting over them so they squirrels can't dig them up again.

The problem I was having with gray squirrels was they dug numerous large holes in the lawn to hide
their nuts.
Boy,was this annoying, to say the least.
So, rather than shoot them, I laid moth balls (any brand) throughout the lawn and that seems to keep them away!
Thank You Jesus!
So, try this method & see if it works for you as well.
P.S. Don't let the squirrels steal your sanity!

have you thought about getting an air rifle? you can legally shoot tree rats and it will be a good bit of sport for you too. all you would need to do is, work out what times they raid your bulbs and hide some where and wait for them to come out and... bang!! one less after a while they will either clear off or you'll shoot them all, either way this should solve your problem.

Powdered cayenne pepper worked for me. It might take several applications, as the little buggers aint exactly the smartest critters in the world.

Tell me about it :( Everything I am growing from bulbs is in pots and covered with stones or wire. Blasted things drive me crazy.
