just got my new nokia 5300 how long do i need to leave it charging for?

I just leave it on charge until it says the battery's full, which is usually between 90 mins and 2 hours. As far as I know, once it says the battery's full, it doesn't attempt to put any more power in it (to stop it leaking). The same goes for MP3 players and other rechargables. They can also be charged around 1000 times before they don't hold the charge anymore and need replacing.

New phones are OK to charge for a normal time but I always leave it charge for 4 times longer than it should because I am old fashioned and stuck in my ways.

My advice was to carry out the very first charge for 16 hrs! This enables the battery to work at its optimum level, for the duration of its life! Trouble was i was itching to use the darn thing!

leave it on till the phone goes to green or indigo blue
should not be even 2 hours
