I can only answer the athlete that comes to mind right off the bat. Nadia Comaneci
She has always stood out to me and did what was deemed impossible at the time she, at 14, won her many gold metals in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.
I was only 8 years old at the time she wowed the world. It was an exciting year in Gymnastics that I will never forget.
