As an Englishman who currently owns many major US based businesses i feel i must ask this.
I have noticed that many Americans on this site are a little upset over my use of the term"owning Americans".The terms"own" isnt meant in a derogatory fashion it is just the way we decribe employing people in England. The Americans who i control dont have any issues with me "owning" them and many look at me as some kind of hero.
Sorry if i have offended

In American slang, 'owning' someone can mean they have been humiliated or beaten in some way - for instance, I might say the Red Army totally owned the Nazis in the Great Patriotic War. This can obviously seem offensive to the person being 'owned'.

greetings. when you say own someone here you are saying they are your slave or you have bribed them and can black mail them. it does not mean they are your employees but your slaves. It has been illegal here since about 1865, and slavery was outlawed in England much earlier then that.

(a) I doubt you own any businesses, US or otherwise.
(b) No-one, but *no-one* in the UK uses the term "own" to describe their relationship with their employees.

You sir, are an idiot.
