It's kinda funny/eerie that you ask this. Lately I have been spending as much time with BOTH of my parents. My mom is in a nursing home and will never come home again. My dad is on his way out and I really don't expect either to last much longer. So yes I am doing everything I can and letting them both know that I love them so much.

No, I think no matter how old you are there are always things you wish you had said, it's too late for my dad now he died 14 years ago, but still got mum. It's always too hard or you think there will always be another chance but you never find the right time to say what you feel.
My advise don't waste time wondering just tell them how you feel before it is too late, you never know what is around the corner for yourself or your parents.

My Dad is dead, and I really didn't ever get to know him well. I am trying not to make the same mistake with my Mum. I am thinking that even if I don't get anything back, it is still important that I say or do whatever from my side, if that makes sense

Not at all. My biological sperm donor and I don't speak. There are so many things I would want to tell my mom and I hope that when the time comes I'll have a chance to do that.

Well both my parents died before I was 11.....but I take your point and try my best to be honest with my Daughters and do things.....but everyone will always have regrets when a close relative dies...there is always something you should have said.

No I wouldn't of done everything I wanted to with them, my dad is already dead, just over a year ago but my mum is still alive and I wish I could do more with her. you never realise everything you want to do with them (or any regrets) until they're gone..........Trust me, I found out when my dad died, i'm still upset about it and I still wish I could of done more with him. :-(

No. I would love to have taken them round the world. They have been nowhere really because they spent all their money on raising my sister and I. It is a debt we can never repay.

They both beat me to it. My mother died when I was 4, (because my dad killed her), and my dad died in 1989, so maybe when I do die I will get the chance to see them both.
