The Internet has so many scam artists and con-merchants that it's hardly worth bothering .. even if I saw your handyman advert I doubt I would follow it up without spending a LOT of time checking out who you might really be (on the web, you can be anyone you like .. and post the photo's to proove it)

(Did you hear about the guy who went to met a 'slim 20 yr. old virgin' at the airport (after paying 'her' air fair) ? .. turned out to be a guy = overweight Nigerian scam artist :-) )

Why not get your card in the local newsagents windows, small convenience stores and local DIY stores ?

Also, MOST new business comes from the personal recommendation of your existing customers .. so do a bit to encourage them too pout your name about (always leave your card, always mention you are looking for more work)

Hi Ginge
I would forget the web. Sometimes you just have to get out and do the work. In your business, word of mouth is the best advertising you will ever get.
Start with leafleting your neighbours. Get your vehicle sign-written.
Do the best job you can and make sure your customers tell their friends how good you are. Leave a small stack of business cards with them so they can pass them around.
Before long you will have as much work as you can handle.

Have you tried Gumtree.com? I've found good plumbers and decorators in my local area from there.
