not like a place that still keeps slaves or anything. just a town out in the middle of nowhere where people grow their own food and hunt their own food and just have one store and a one road downtown area.

There are many small farming towns in America that have just one main street with a few shops. National Geographic used to feature such places, but have since stopped. I seem to recall one place called Hot Coffee in Mississippi, and another called Cuba in Kansas.

I guess the most traditional would have to be the Amish communities, although I think they are a little too traditional. Plus all that intermarrying brings out genetic defects not common in regular societies.

Usually a mixture of both in many a small town. For the rest, you have to travel to Burma, or some other charming country cut off from the teeming masses of degenerate smear..
(and I think living with the Amish would be dreadful)

no...i live about two miles from the fourth largest Amish community in the WORLD...my youngest daughter goes to school with the Amish.
let me tell you...they are hypocrites!
they (sneakily)use electricity. they have cell phones, they shop and WORK at wal mart, they go to the laundry mat and use washers and dryers. they drink and swear and raise hell. they use computers.
nope...they early 1900's are a thing of the past.

Yes. The Amish peoples live that way. It must be so peaceful!
