I'm talking especially about stand up comedy. I think the funniest black comedian is Bernie Mac, some say Dave Chapelle, but I don't really like him that much. Who's the best? Who do you think is a good black comedian?

The greatest comedian of all time is Richard Pryor and many comedians say that he was the best of all of them.
I would suggest 1979's dvd tape of Richard Pryor's "Live in Concert" which is far, far better than Raw. This is the best stand up performance of all time. Nothing competes.
Also check out 1976's "Is It Something I Said?". You will get your dollars worth.

The best stand-up comedian of all-time is Richard Pryor. Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are good, so is Chappelle, but Pryor is THE best--black, white, green, or purple.

wow... I've thought a lot about this. I will list my favorites.
1. Bill Cosby- you can't beat him. he's so relatable and real. Himself is my favorite work of comedy ever, I grew up with it.
2. Chris Rock- he studied the masters. he says things that need to be said about society.
3. Richard Pryor- fearless, maybe the best ever.
4. Eddie Murphy- go back and watch Raw and Delerious, they are still so true. Chris Rock says that without Eddie, he wouldn't have tried.

Eddie Murphy, especially in Delirious, Chris Rock, and Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby could make you laugh louder than anyone else without uttering one bad word. (Not that I mind bad words, but it's refreshing to be able to share comedy with your children too.)
