I enjoy the roads less traveled. Mostly mountain roads.
No radio, top down and just enjoying a peaceful drive (sometimes).
Then there are those days when I concentrate on the way I take the turns, paying no to attention to the speed limit or the speedometer. It used to be that I could keep the car I was driving on the knives edge, but those were not true sports cars. I enjoy a set of well taken turns like a baseball player enjoys a home-run or a golfer a hole in one.
It does not have to be on the knives edge anymore as the car I drive now is a better car then I am a driver. Not that I am that slow, it is just that the challenge of being faster then the other drivers isn't there anymore. No one can keep up now (if they keep on their own side of the road, well even if they don't), so what is the point of finding out the hard way that I pushed the car too far?

I first started driving in 1965, that was when there were no speed cameras, no sleeping policemen, no yellow boxes to stay out of, the cost of motoring cost was less in percentage terms, cars were easier to work on then if you were mechanically minded, ( no computers in cars then) making repairs cheaper, the police were more prepared to listen to your reason when you did something wrong or made a mistake and more likely to have used their common sense about prosecuting, driving seemed more fun in those days, there were no motorways so driving was not boring because you had more to do, driving I think was a more relaxing pass time and I would drive just for the enjoyment, on the other hand cars were not as reliable as they are now, the handling and braking was nowhere near as good as now, all in all I am glad that most of my driving was done before motoring became so controlled, restricted and expensive, I still enjoy driving, mainly because I live in Wales where the scenery is great, there is less traffic and although I am not Welsh, I feel at home here, the people are friendly and when I drive, the surroundings make it more enjoyable.

Hello there...
I don't drive a car i just ride a motorcycle and what makes it fun for me is having a riot in my helmet at cars taking every opportunity to ram me off the road, and i like to go touring for 1 month every year on my bike to find new places, new scenery and riding down a long coastal road with a few mates shouting to each other via intercoms
"TAKE A PIC" at the gorgeous scenery around there and coming home after a month of touring and building a scrapbook of where i have been in my riding career to show my family and maybe (children should i have any) where i have been...
Oh and of course i love doing the odd track-day with a couple of Friends...
ride long, ride fast, ride hard.......
Oh yeah and most deffinatly the twisty costal roads bye the seaside, stop off for a chippy and an icecream if it a hot day... or maybe a coffee and a toasted T-cake if its cold....
a note for saint sean NOT INDICATING i think you should really start indicating it could me be your tunring into next not a corner look indicate move!!!!!!!!

Driving a vehicle in perfect working order and high quality roads. A vehicle with running problems or a poor road surface ruin my driving experience. No speed limit on the motorway/ highway helps too. If I want to get to my destination on time it would enhance my driving experience to be able to drive as fast as I can providing the road surface is good and the turns not too sharp.

I have enjoyed riding motor cycles since I was 8 years old, driving cars and trucks since I was 24 or 25 and flying aircraft from 40 to 55. I have enjoyed all forms of controlling vehicles (and boats.) The pleasure comes from: listening to a sweet running engine; responsive steering which allows accurate positioning of the vehicle, especially on winding roads (straight road speeding is NOT pleasing to me); seeing beautiful countryside or coastal views; exploring different places in Britain and overseas; using a smooth gearbox to get optimum performance out of a vehicle; having responsive, smooth brakes with good stopping performance; when riding bikes I particularly like riding roads which are not straight, particularly when you can see through bends; being in the open air; I like the better view of the countryside which a bike gives us; I like riding in the wet when I have good waterproof clothing; I like flying because I enjoy the 3 dimensional control which a plane gives us; viewing the country side from the air (which gives a different perspective to everything, especially to places you know well at ground level, i.e. your own locale) and I like boats because they allow a different view of the coast line as well as allowing real enjoyment of the sea tainted fresh air. I've enjoyed all these things for a life time and I'm not giving up until I have to (except flying...I can no longer afford that on my pension)

God has it absolutely right , even down to living and driving in Wales. What is really missing is the old spirit of the road, thought and respect for ones fellow motorist is all but dead.I could over take then without someone closing the gap for example. What I still enjoy is being in total control of a car giving 100% to the task in hand and leaving my worries behind.

Fun for me is nice scenery ( ie country roads, cottages) and in a nice weather. I like also listening to music. I absolutely love driving, and enjoy it when i am behind the wheel. If i was not a woman and already had a good job, i would become a driver, lorry driver, taxi driver. I never get tired and love it, although i have been driving now for over 10 years.
Yes, i know its strange! but it gives me a sense of freedom!

hi , as an international hgv driver , firstly its gotta be the scenery in different countries , i was in italy last week going through the mont blanc tunnel , this week im off to spain . . its not just that though its seeing different cultures or architecture .
stick some music on or a talking book or comedian .
sat in traffic and making the kids giggle in the car in front as they stare at the big truck behind them by making faces at them .
its just a feeling of freedom , not being tied down , the open road , being nosey helps cause i always want to know whats round the next bend or over the next hill
making friends at different truck stops and maybe helping stranded motorists . its a whole range of things .

Bridgestone RE010R tires 400 Horsepower Correct handling sway bars Down shifting to third to second and accelerating out of a curve sideways getting rubber into third and topping out over 165 miles an hour. 6 speed manual transmission. "Professional Driver on a closed course" Or just driving 20 miles an hour in a city park. Driving is a privilege and should not be a drudgery.
