Although its not the first place that comes to mind when you think of the word Holiday (USA: Vacation), Iran has some amazing historical places to visit.
Does anyone know which tour operators fly there, and any possible places that should be visited once there?

Don't know any tour operators, but Isfahan, Shiraz are must sees.
Go put to the very north, it is amazing. Ma-shad if you are brave- the mountain roads are deadly.
Stay away fro Tehran, the traffic is worse than New York and the air is polluted.
And the archaeological sites near the Afghanistan border ( sorry have forgotten their names) will make your heart sing.
The people are kind and friendly to outsiders, but the driving is manic!! Recommend flying everywhere if you can.
Above all try the traditional cuisine. To die for....!!
And have fun.
