First, the UN security council has Mainland China on the council. China is a big supporter of Burma Junta. Second, the UN does not have the force to back up any of their resolutions.

The United Nations is not primarily a body to help other countries, no matter what gibberish the charter may have written to paper.

It is in fact a means for the Permanent Members of the Security Council to enforce the terms that they dictate on the lesser countries.

Sorry to burst your bubble that is just the fact. The United Nations is colonialism on a world wide scale and by more deceptive means. Expecting it to do anything that the Permanent Members of the Security Council do not want it to do is to expect the tide to obey your commands.

All of this being said the reason the the UN has and will do nothing in Burma is that Burma has nothing that any of the Permanent Members want. Cold hard fact.

The United Nations is not a world government and it cannot order the Burmese generals to stop abusing the people.

LOL....you seem to think that the tax payers in other countries have the rights of the tax payers in the US. The US is a country of WE the people. We are the only one of our kind. The United Nations is worthless and has been for a very long time.

It takes time for the UN Peacekeepers to mobilize - and they only mobilize after it has been decided through diplomatic means that it is necessary.

While the situation in Myanmar is bad, it is new. No one has yet had time to react. On the other hand, I do acknowledge... Look at how many people are helping Darfur.

greetings. they are powerless against anyone. note how much good they did in preventing the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq and soon to be added invasion of Iran. U.N. is a toothless lion that can only roar and not bite. No one pays much mind to the useless organization any more.
