The continent of Australia as it is also a nation

2007-09-28 20:48:45 · answer #1 · answered by travel 4 · 0 0

Antarctica has no nation.

Arctic has none.

Australia has one. If you include New Zealand in Australian continent plus some other smaller nations around in the ocean living in islands and call it Australasia or Oceania then there are more then one nation in there. Even then it does not compare to other populated continents.

North America has three major countries (or nations) including the USA, Canada and Mexico. If some countries of Central America are also included with boundary of North and South American continents at Panama, then we are talking about more than 3 nation in North America.

So the competition is between Oceania and North America. You decide it.

Anartica has no nations on it.
If you exclude Antartica, then Australia is a continent unto itself, and is the only nation on that continent.
If you want the continent that has more than one nation on it, but the fewest, that would be North America. 3 nations: Canada, Mexico, United States.
