How can I better protect my internet harddrive? It is simply just encripted. Someboby just told me purchase a firewall that costs 500 or 600 USD. Besides, anyway I can protect it better whenever I open the FPT to the public.

You mean how do you protect your hard drive from the internet?

Well, start by turning on your computer firewall ( in your control panel) Then download a anti-virus program and install.

www.avast.com is good and free.

If not try norton but you have to pay.

Want to save a few bucks? Download IPCop from ipcop.org and build your own. I believe it will run on a 486. It sets up in minutes. If you are opening up a public FTP site, you better be able to lock it down.
