No. I have friends with different political opinions. With some we agree not to talk politics and all is fine. With others we deliberately escalate political conversations into flaming arguments, often over more than a healthy quantity of beer. All in the name of fun (from time to time I actually learn something through this process too).

No, because I believe each person in the friendship must be able to discuss the subject with respect for the other person. This has always worked for me, and I'm quite opinionated. It's okay to get into a debate and get another perspective, just don't let it get personal.

No, not until election time I think because alot of people are Dems and cant even say why they are and if they get me into a Clinton or Obama presidency it is all done! Ignorant fools they are and it will be revealed and friendships ruined come election time! Oh by the way they all know this!

That's the main reason I don't talk politics with friends unless I know they have the same views as I. Haven't you heard there are two subjects you should never discuss, religion and politics.

It has come close to on occasion. Ihave had to become much more open and accepting and not as adamant on my views and so have my friends. I wish politicians could learn to do the same.

No. One of my best friends refuses to get into it with me and the other likes the debates, and still respects me for my views.
