If you say that him wanting the ball to take a shot and to win it all is being selfish... then YES.

But he is not a ball-hog, as he is one of the most creative passers of his time. Passing the ball when it is necssary to win the game... Take Paxson, Kerr and even Toni Kukoc who all benefited from Jordan's passing. Admittedly he loves taking the ball and create situations for the offensive. He knows that his teammates are WITH HIM. And that is what gives him courage to take the ball.

Take these quotes for example:

Jordan on Pippen: "When we went into battle, I knew I had someone to watch my back," Michael Jordan said. "I love him like a brother. He pushed me to be the best basketball player every day in practice. And I pushed him to be the best Scottie Pippen he could be."

Pippen talking about Michael heroics on game five of the 1997 Finals: “He was at the point where we didn’t know if he was going to play or not,” Pippen recalled. “Normally when you’re sick or something of that nature and you try to play, though, you tend to try and go above and beyond. You’ve got to reach down deep. We didn’t know if he was going to make it, so every bit of energy that he had, we wanted to make sure was used in the right situation… not like walking to the bench.”
“As teammates, we should have played better basketball, but we really appreciate the way he carries the team,” Pippen said after the game.

"It's going to take a team effort to win championships," Grant said. "Michael's Michael. You can't compare anybody to a guy of his stature. We didn't mind 'getting overlooked' as long as we won championships and Michael respected our abilities."

Hope this helps.

no...

remember game 6 of the 93 finals? who took the winning shot? it was Paxson. Paxson would never got the ball if Michael did not pass it or passed it and asked for the ball again.

game 6 of the 97 finals. Kerr took the winning shot. he told Kerr in the huddle to be ready. he knew at one point in the play he needed to pass the ball to somebody. it was Kerr who got open so he passed it to him.

A lot of his teammates benefited in his passing. Like Bill Wennington when they had a game in MSG against the Knicks. Mj had 55 points but he passed in the clutch to Wennington who got open.

There are a lot of proofs he was not selfish.

everyone always talks crap about jordan being a ball hog. he acctually teaches his players on the court like a coach. like when luc longley and dennis rodman helped them win championships, jordan helped them learn the plays so they would be lookin for a pass instead of just the rebound. i heard the first week of practicing jordan took the ball 3 different times and wound up and threw and the back of longley's head when he wasnt lookin for the passes

jordan is a good player in offense. he can drive to the hoop very easy. but he's not selfish. he is a great passer to the one who's open.

Not any more than anyone else.

I imagine it is extremely difficult to be as good as he was and still maintain some kind of balance with your teammates, trusting in them when they needed you to yet still having the gumption to take over and ignore them, when circumstances necessitate.

I think the guy did it as well anyone could be expected to. He was one of the fiercest competitors in the history of sports, the very definition of clutch, and he was somehow always able to get the most out of everyone he played with, winning and winning and winning and winning. What more could you ask from a teammate?

(If you're referring to his business practices, I don't know enough about them to speak of him in that regard.)
