Fran Tarkenton. He set more records than any other Viking I can recall.

Tough call.

QB : Frank Tarkenton. Came in rookie year and really put the Vikings on the map as an expansion team. Went on to break records and earned a place in the hall of fame. BUT...boy was it fun watching Randall Cunningham in the 90s.

Defense : The Purple People Eaters. Allan Page, Carl Eller, Gary Larsen, and Jim Marshall. One of the most solid defenses ever....PERIOD.

WR : Anthony Carter. Can't get that playoff game against a very impressive 49er team that would rule the 80s. Over 200 yards receiving. Then again, it's hard to argue against Cris Carter and Randy Moss.

RB : Chester Taylor is a flop but Adrian Peterson is looking good. Herschel Walker was probably the best prospect that never came through. My vote is for Robert Smith.

Jim Marshall or Alan Page. Fran Tarkenton was a bit overrated.

Most young people never saw him play, but I'd have to say Fran Tarkenton. He held the record for most passing yards in a career (47,003) for a good while until Marino broke it. Then again, he only played 14 games a season.

I'm not a Vikings fan and would find it difficult to name one.
Fran Tarkenton
Alan Page
Carl Eller
Jim Marshall (shame this guy is ONLY known for scoring a TD for the other team)
Cris Carter
Ahmad Rashad
Anthony Carter

Jim Marshall even though he ran a fumble the wrong way.

Fran Tarkenson, he's the only one that I thought was going to amount to anything.
