i think you're very optimistic, and that's fine...
you need cloths too, not only food, and mantain your health too...
i guess you know the cost of growing lemons (or anything); you will need workers, water, permits, taxes, transport, fuel, etc.
the name is OXXO, and it is not the gas station, it's a mini market, and it is a franchise, you will never be the owner...
as a matter of fact, Cancun is by far more expensive than many Europe cities...of course, if you get your hotel, it will be most of the time occupied (i think thats the word)
as a project, that's good...but you need to know NOW how many money you will need to make more money...
so, if you're planning your retirement for about your age of 30, you need to work very hard (or make much money really fast)...
so, do you think you can get an acre for only two dollars?...

In theory, everything works out.
How many people go five years without purchasing anything but food, though? Without taking inflation into account, you may draw in ten to fifteen grand net a year, employed as an unskilled. Seventy-five grand. Cool.
Not enough. As the other mate said, it's a fantasy. Even if you do manage to live like a monk for five years, there's always going to be Murphy's Law stuck up your ***.
All things considered, no, it is not a good plan to make money. In any case, why do you want the money? The apex of your life will be spent in mindless labor for money. Why not an education? Will you find more fulfillment as an educated elite of society, or as an obscure hotel director on an island?
It's up to you. There just might be more to life than money.
But then again, there might not be.
(To give you some insight on my personal stance, I'm also fifteen, and I plan on a major in anthropology, philosophy, sociology, or the psyche. Ideally, I'd prefer to beg for a living. But that will never happen. It's just a fantasy.)

That is a horrible plan, even for a 15 year old.
First off, recognize that it isn't the destination that's important, it's the journey.
Enjoy your youth, to an extent, while you have it. Yes, it is important to work hard, and money is important, too, but get a good education and do what you love and the money will follow.
"Education isn't preparation for life. Education is life." -some asshole
I know how you feel, though. High school can be an annoying pain in the ***, and it often feels like a waste of time. It may be. College, however, kicks *** and you really don't want to miss it.

I would suggest you do a little market search for the lemons. The grower doesn't make that much from the crop.. the last figure I saw was $.05/lb. So it would be advisable to do the market search before making such a decision. Comparison of several crops may be in the offing..
Your program is well put together but need to become more aware of what crop will make the most money. Many crops are available there than are able to be grown in the US.

Your plan sounds interesting. You might consider delaying your plan for a few more years while you work on the details and in the meantime continue your studies...with a focus perhaps on business studies, economics, human psychology and languages. This might put you in a better position to run a business and manage teams. Also, at the same time as you are studying, consider finding a mentor/role model who you can learn business practice from...someone who is succesful in business...(but don't worship them...as YOU can surpass their success...). You might also consider starting a small local business right now to try and learn some fundamental business skills and principles. Best of luck !

I think this plan of your (especially for your age) sounds really great and all... but trust me.. you should most defintely go to college and take some business management classes. Alot of people of all ages feel the way you do and really want to save money and strike it rich. That is wonderful, but it does not hurt at all to attend college, get your degree as a backup... especially in case this wonderful plan of yours does not fall through like you had expected it to. Dont get me wrong, there are others out there I am pretty sure who did exactly what your dream is and did pretty well for themselves. Trust me from experience, I have wonderful dreams of making it big, but I persuedmy college education and as long as I have my degress, I can pretty much get a good paying job with helath benefits at many places- unitlill I can accomplish my other wonderful dreams. :)

Stay in school!!!! I know that's not what you wanted to hear. The people in Mexico have it pretty bad. What makes you think that you can do better than the people already living there. By the time your old enough to do this the rate of inflation will eat up your savings. Think about it real hard before making a rash decision.

It is a good day dream. But dreams show the way toward success. So continue dreaming and go behind and also put some effort to get the results as you desire.

It is creative! No education nor experience... especially in business, mixed-cultures and trade? You will be bait for the bigger educated person waiting for you to fall on your face, so they can get all your hard-worked earnings....much cheaper!
