as for me , my favourite is newton issac, u may ask why?
most scientific and mathematical thoeries were invented by him, especially calculus( in conjunction with euler) which is the engine room of all sciences and engineering.
the 2nd is chike obi of nigeria who first proved FLT
(fermat last theorem)

Leonhard Euler (1707-83) is my favourite because I can actually understand some of his stuff!
Pierre-Simon de Laplace (1749-1827) is recorded as saying to his students "Lisez Euler, lisez toujours Euler: il est notre maître en tout" (read Euler, keep reading Euler: he is our master in everything).
Carl Friedrich Gauss (1777-1855) is a better mathematician, but the mathematics he did is much too difficult for me.
