im almost positive this would be ok, im not sure why it would hurt you or the baby if you did clean your belly button with rubbing alcohol anyways. i did alittle searching on the yahoo page and every other answer seems say that rubbing alcohol wont harm the baby in anyway, sometimes dr. even reccomend you dry out the babies umbilical cord stump with rubbing alcohol so im sure it wont harm the baby.
if its a rash or something in your belly button you might want to see a dr though..
hope that helps

I don't understand why you would need to clean your naval with rubbing alcohol, don't you wash yourself all over in the shower? But aside from the strangeness of it...there is no way it can harm your baby. It's your skin so it can't affect the baby in any way, shape or form. The baby is inside you in a protective amniotic sac and is not connected to your belly button at all......., your belly button is only where YOU were connected to YOUR mother!

I don't think alcohol is such a great cleaner. You might dab on some peroxide with a cotton ball then wash your navel with soap and water. Best of luck to you and yours!

why is your belly button getting dirty?, mine did with my last pregnancy, i dunno why, i just used to put baby oil in it and clean it with cotton sticks, that always kept it shiny clean, lol
same goes for your baby when its born, mine used to get all brown during the 1st 6mths, i used ti give it a good clean with the baby oil too , , xxxxxxxxxxx
