johan n: I'm pretty happy with my life. I'm actually asking this because I'm a psych student and I'm studying human cogntion and emotion. I'm curious - just like most people here.

Very. I really can't ask much more of my life. I basically have everything (materialistically) I need, I have great friends, and I have my health. I'm convinced that having something in one's life to be proud of, and the ability to ignore stupid little things in life are really all anyone needs to have a good life. Self esteem is earned, not given.

Yes, very much. Feel lucky to be surrounded by the people who are so nice and kind. Feel blessed to have a great family. Even during hard time, I never regret the way I live my life :)

I am 100% happy 35% of the time. unhappy 30% of the time.
The other 35% of the time I am at various degrees in between.

WhenI look aroud me and see all that misery and people with all the problems, i consider myself very lucky although i dont have lots of money but i have travelled the globe and brought up my kids in a good way, gave them all very high education so yes I feel happy about the way life is...thanks to God.

No. My only son has a mental illness called: sociopathy, which makes him do all sorts of bad and awful things -- especially he has desserted us, his parents, who love him!!! He has used his wonderful, beautiful, brilliant children as weapons too hurt us and he has alienated them against us -- they used to love us very much !!! he has threatened them if they contact us or even talk to us!!! He abused his wife who adored him. He abused her. He abuses everyone. Look up "sociopath" -- everything you read there describes him to a T (he has not yet murdered anyone).
He gets it from my husbands side of the family & they have abused me verbally & emotionally from day one. My husband also emo, verbally and phys abused me until I learned to stand up for myself, I stayed with him because i thought it the right thing to do when my son was young. I didn manage to make him see the light 7 he is now a good person, he did not have the disease, but he had been exposed to it so long that he acted a bit like them until I worked with him.
I wasted the best years of my life in the wrong town, with the wrong people, doing things i didnt want to do! I wasted my life. I was crippled by a drunk driver, the pain in my back has made me sedentary, gain 60 lbs & get diabetes 9runs in my family).
If my mom hadnt died when i was 15 I wouldnt even have been allowed to date my spouse, I wouldve finished school & gone on to college/university and had a wonderful life as I was a happy, out going, loving person. i loved to sing, and dance and act & i was very good and quite beautiful. Altho I can walk I am in constant pain since I was only 45 and I only looked 30! I only look 35 now -- except wt makes me look a bit older. Diabetes is probably destroying my heart.
I am so lonely for my grand kids, I love my son and miss the boy he was. I want my life back so I could do the right things with it.
I am going to try to lose the wt, (I also have hypothyroisdism which keeps me from losing along with the pain), but I want to try as hard as I can. i want to get my figure & my life back as much as possible! I want to move to hawaii, i want to sing and dance and be outdoors which you cannot do in fla -- it is toooooooooooooooooooooooo hot & humid except 2 months per year!!!! And maybe my kids will join me there, they said when they were younger how much they'd like to live in Ha., which floored me -- as I'd never mentioned my dream of living there to them!!! They are a chip off my old block!!! I think I could be happy even if i have to live without all the material things i have here if I had a real life where I could be ME !!!

Why are you asking this question ? Aha ! you got problem with yours ? You want someone to sing you a song to make you feeling happy again ? If that's what it is, hey !, I think somebody there should pull hard at your ears or box you on the head, maybe then you'll appreciate that you still got to see the sun and the moon.....

actually, i hate my life,things alaways went down hill for me since birth, i know people are going to say get over it, but most the time, they havent been threw anything that bad that they had to get over, so its easy for them to say get over it.i dont know, its probly no big deall.
