No, it just seems that way because you are concentrating on it. Like watching a clock...Time seems to slow down. The opposite would be that time flies when your having fun - your not paying attention to the time so it seems to go faster.

No- I have done it before. I think it needs its privacy though. I filled up a pot with 4 cups of water. I set a timer and walked away. Then on the same burner I put the same pot with a new 4 cups of water. I set the timer and watched the pot. It took ten minutes longer. Lol what can I say? I was bored!

NO - silly it just means you are more impatient when you are waiting every second for something to happen.
of course if you watch long enough it will finally boil it just won't feel as fast as when you do something else.
