Have a new puppy 5 month olds and she eats everything, I don't want theare grass, unable to care for it.

Ok first you don't say what zone you're in...so I'll assume middle latitudes; zones 3 through 6; also you don't tell me whether the area in question is is sun, or shade...your saying you don't want grass gives me a clue that the area might be shady...try a plant called "penny royal"...round leaves with yellow flowers...does very well in shade...as for your puppy; shes gonna try everything in sight...she has only two major senses...ok three...sight, taste, and smell...shes gonna try "everything"until she knows what's good for her; and what isn't...some things might make her sick; call a Vet...I'M NOT AN ANIMAL DOCTOR...but most things won't...once she knows a thing makes her sick...she probably won't eat it again...although dogs CAN be stupid...lol...but not YOUR pup...

I am just a Joe Blow with a nice yard and I used Blue Juniper which when planted about 20" apart fills in nicely and no maintenece.

I have photos of what my Juniper looks like when I planted and a couple years later on my 360 page. The link is below.
