I love this question, thank you for that ! If I could ask one question , although i have many, lol..it would be ...........why is there always fighting in Gods name? people need to respect other religions and let people worship their God, in Peace.Religion is a personal relationship with God, it should not affect anyone but yourself and your own inner peace. Wars are caused by differences in beliefs and that to me, is uncalled for.

Sigh..the biggest hypothetical IF question, when we know we can't do it.
I would ask Him "Why are my happy memories of the past followed by the harsh sad and unhappy reality of the present?"
This is especially true for loved ones who have gone on.
I am glad Jesus wept at the funeral of Lazarus even though He is the Resurrection and Life.
Of course this is a selfish question but at this time that would be the one I would ask.

why... update- if I am having a one to one with God[if such a being should exist] then I have given up my mortal coil and have ascended, when that has happened all the answers will be revealed and there will be no reason for me to ask anything. the answers, the reasons, all of it will be known and God and I can sit quietly with the knowing. The Universe wheeling around us no longer a mystery...
