About 6 days ago... we found her at a gas station.... beaten up... bloody, dragging her front paw behind, saw three WASTED illegal mexicans, beating her front leg, with a baseball bat.
She had to either be put to sleep, or amputate her leg, which would gost abotu 2500 dollars. I of course, chose the last one, because she deserved to live.
Shes a german shepard rotweiler mix.
And I was wondering what I should do to her, to keep her comfortable and know I love her?
She can get up to pee, and is happy, but still has sad eyes in her poor face ;(

Depends on the leg. And also depends on why the leg was removed. If it was a genetic problem, then NO he never should be bred as it could be passed on to offspring. If he could have gotten a championship title in the ring (top quality and have a steller pedigree) then maybe you could. However, he should be at least 2 yrs old and tested for all genetic problems before you even consider him to breed. More then likely he's not a show quality dog - the best thing to do is neuter him.

My Chinchilla cat Henry had to have his back leg amputated after getting it caught in a fence. It took a while but he recovered, and ended up living a very long and happy life. Once she adjusts she will be fine. Love her lots, and help her out at first. She looks a lovely dog, and she will continue to reward you with love. You made the right choice, good for you.

Yer makin' me wanna cry!!! She is sooo cute! Who in the world...
I hope that doesn't make you think less of Mexicans as a whole. Those were just insensitive and uncaring bass turds.
She is soooooo cute. I pray her fragile little doggy emotions get healed through all the love your fam gives her.

i love that you took care of her. i hate Mexicans, in t.x. by the boarder they try to hit the stray dogs on the roads for fun. sooo messed up. but i love my dog, she's my baby for real. she needs to know that people aren't horrible. so love her by sitting with her as much as possible. talk to her like a person, rub her belly, my dog loves when i put my head near hers, thing about it when dogs lay together they lay like on top of each other so i get my body as close to her as possible, toys and treats too! i get special handmade ones! your so sweet!! I'm sure she knows it too!

Treat her like any other dog. Give her lots of attention and love, but don't spoil her too much. I'm glad you helped her!

Just love and care for her. Unfortunately you may see her flinch sometimes if she thinks you are going to hurt her. Great patience is needed.
Bless you for your care and love.
