with Van Halen-David Lee Roth was better hands down. With DLR Van Halen for some reason had a harder sound. With Sammy to me it more poppish. For my money I would always go with DLR singing with Van Halen

Solo, I would definately go with Sammy

stage presence DLR was cockier and better showman a lot like James "Jim Dandy" Mangrum from Black Oak Arkansas. while Sammy looked more like partying beach bum which I don't think went over too well with Eddie a lot of times.

That depends if you like great rock music (Van Halen, Van Halen II, Women and Children First. Diver Down, Fair Warning)that made you feel like the future was yours and it was great big party

if you prefer the feeling you would have if you were at a concert with an overweight 17 year old with bad teeth and a meth habit. And your lighterr leaked fluid all over you when Sammy Hagar was singing "Right Here, Right Now" and it went all over your acid washed jeans and made you look like you peed yourself, and you looked in the mirror and realized that no one should ever wear a white leather jacket with fringe and you just felt empty and sad.

David Lee Roth
The early Van Halen albums are the best.

I'll be in the minority and say Sammy Hagar. Dave Lee Roth was the showman but his voice was pretty mediocre in comparison.

David Lee Roth, hands down. While Sammy Hargar may have been a better vocalist, he didn't have near the same amount of swagger and charisma as Diamond Dave.

Van Halen with Sammy never sold as many albums as Van Halen with Dave. So technically They were better with Diamond Dave!

Hagar. Sammy Hagar was in Montrose, dude! David Lee Roth was the president of his own fan club (plus his only trick was that stupid hiccuping thing he always did).

I thought both were good, but I always liked David Lee Roth better.

I'd say Roth (I'm listening to 1984)
Hes a lot harder and less pop than Hagar, even though they're both awesome
I can't Drive 55 kicks *** (stupid censor) and 5150 is awesome
