I sit here and read these questions and try to offer reasonable advice. More and more I find people asking questions that really ask you to support their lack of morality. Such as the guy that ran off with a married woman to Florida and now is upset because she calls home to talk to her kid. The question is disturbing enough but some of the answers condon what he is doing and they offer suggestions. I personally condemn people with questions like that and I certainly don't support their behavior. It is clear by the answers that many of the answers come from younger people that think this is the norm. I wish they would require people here on Yahoo Answers to post their age. On top of everything else it is clear that many of these people can't spell (or use a spell check) nor can the form an intelligent sentence. So what does this say about our educational system? I know this is Marriage and Divorce and the reason I ask this here is because it is the only category I answer questions in.

I have noticed the very same thing. It makes me nervous to think some of these people are the leaders of tomorrow. Education is sorely lacking based on much of what I read in here as are morals. Some of these people think marriage is like going steady... if it doesn't work out then toss it aside... in the meantime they've had children, many that will be a burden on tax payers because the mothers will be forced to be on public assistance. At the same time the guys go out and have kids with yet another woman. There was a time when men were the ones that cheated probably 4 to 1 compared to women and now the women have caught up and it is neck to neck. Also if you compared the percentage of cheaters now to 20 years ago I'm sure you would be shocked. We use to be the greatest country in the world and the most educated. While we are still the best Country I'm not so sure that we are the most educated and certainly not the most moral. As to your question all I can say is ... I wish I knew!

I agree with your observation. I just read a question in which a person was asking for advice on how to get out of a relationship with an abusive long term boyfriend. Her concern was that they had purchased a house and a business together, but they were all in his name. One person replied that it was nobody's business but their own to get themselves out of the mess they put themselves in. My question is this: If one doesn't have a good suggestion for the asker, then why does one even bother to submit rude remarks? Some people seriously want a good suggestion and I applaud them for having the courage to ask how to get out of a difficult situation. It's not that easy. Not only has morality gone down the toilet, but common courtesy has gone along with it. Spelling and grammar are a pet peeve of mine, as well. Since you took the time to point it out, I thought I might point out a few of your errors, too. Condon is actually spelled c-o-n-d-o-n-e. You state, "...nor can the form an intelligent sentence." I believe you meant to say THEY. Also, your last sentence should be worded like so: "...I ask this here because it is the only category in which I answer questions." One should not answer one's sentences with a preposition. For the sake of the educational system, I thought I would point out those mistakes. There is no offense implied.

Yes you are absolutely right when you say that the morality has declined in the US. More people are choosing to live together and not get married. And some married people think it is okay to have extramarital affairs. What is really bad is the children are the ones who suffer from this. And it is teaching children that it is okay to live together and to have extramarital affairs if you get bored with your spouse. Also the media is to blame. I was flipping through the tv channels and noticed that a show was coming on that interviewed cheating spouses. They had no remorse for the damage they had caused their spouses or their children. They said they needed something different to spice up their life. That's the whole problem people do what they want and don't think of the consequences it will bring on others. True love and concern for others is quickly vanishing. Remember 9/11? Of course everyone does. The entire US was different then. People actually acted different then. Then how quickly we forget how close we all were back then. and it starts to fade. What we all need in the US and the world is UNITY and love and concern for others no matter what race, religion or sex. I know some will disagree what I have to say but the true answer is God. He is the only one that can heal our country and the morality of our nation.

I personally don't believe that it has anything to do with a person's education. They don't teach that you shouldn't break up a family in school, so that kicks out the education system and leaves only parenting in the lead. Kids are what they are taught and these days its, "let's take care of number one." I suggest that you just answer questions that don't leave you feeling as nasty as the people are who are writing about their lack of morals for the world to read, even if we don't know who they are, nasty is still nasty; even if it is hidden.

You are quite right. I cannot believe the amount of people who 'ask questions', but in doing so, they justify their own decisions, by blaming it on something else. Basically answering their own question... which leads me to believe they are looking for approval in their decision to do exactly what they know is wrong. It is even more troubling that people on here actually do help them justify their immoral cheating ways.

Education has alot to do with morality, and when I say education, I don't mean school. I mean more along the lines of being informed. Morals are shaped at a very young age, usually helped along by the adults in our lives, while those adults are challenged by our peers. It is quite evident in the way people spell and articulate themselves, that it is quite safe to say the majority of those who display immorality, also find it quite challenging to form a sentence. From an education standpoint, as schooling, yes that has something to do with immorality too... it begins with kicking God out of schools... then out of the country....

I am VERY scared of my daughter's future in the USA today. I want her to be a good, moral caring and self-respecting human being. So much of the world is into material things, and live in a complete bubble world of drugs, sex, violence and money. I personally believe that like it or not, Hollywood has a lot to do with influencing young adults and teens. They will say no, it doesn't...but that is just being ignorant. Where are family, personal and religious morals and values? I work with a group of high school girls, and the amount of guys they have slept with in their short life so far is DISGUSTING....it's like no one ever ingrained into them that you should only have sex with someone when you are in love, and in a commited relationship....now, they watch random hook-ups and lewd behavior all over tv shows and Hollywood, and they think that this is the norm....that everyone is a whore, every boy they date they sleep with, they can't just DATE. It is unbelievable...are people getting more stupid? And why aren't parents teaching their kids daily, the difference between right and wrong? My parents did, and I wasn't given any options on sex...they said it was wrong unless I was married, and taught abstinence...birth control was never an option, because I wasn't supposed to even "accidently" do that. Well, I wasn't married when I did have sex, but I was in my twenties at least, a few years into college and very in love with the man I was with, and I am still with him. We plan on getting married.
I feel very sad on where the world is going. So much drugs, so many people going on killing sprees, sleeping around and only caring about money and self-satisfaction. Why would anyone think that these things will lead to a happy life? Why do people even start using drugs? Aren't people smart enough to see what happens to people, and NOT want that for their lives? When I look at Hollywood, all I see is a bunch of uneducated, drugged out losers who have no morals. And it is spreading to our kids. I am not perfect myself in life, but it is sad, when you see the world taking joy in evil, and living a life with no values morals or self-respect. Where is common sense? And if this is people trying to stand out in a crowded world, unfortunatly, they're just becoming another moral-less zombie. A body that screws anything, does anything and tries anything it wants, with no regard to God, themselves, their families or anyone. The USA is becoming a joke to other countries....I have been told by many immigrants....they say american women are "dirty" and "gross" very whorish and men not any better....Is this what we are supposed to be proud of?

I believe someone already said it but, I will restate it: family values or, any values altogether, have gone out the window. If values stand in the way of people getting what they want (because of our severe issue with entitlement) then values have to go away in order to clear the road for selfishness and immediate gratification. The ability to spell/write is out the window for many also as this requires effort and many can't take the time to do something right.

You need to try another category to answer questions in then . If your so upset with the immoral questions that are being asked, jump into something that will work better for you, something more interesting, more intelligent. Why do you stay here where your so unhappy?
