Texican , good point .It's happening in Iraq. Saw a video , following a particular unit in Iraq , for several days ,getting their comments along the way . Without prompting they brought it up. They are aware of the conflict of values/ history vs pragmatism of the moment .

Probably the amendment about not being able to house troops in a residence. This was a big deal during the time, but hasn't really happened in America since.

However, it has happened quite often in Europe during the World Wars, so maybe it can still be valid for us.
