In 1844 they didn't exist.
As the Pilots, they only existed in 1969.

In 1844 not only did the Pilots and Brewers not exist, not only did the National League not exist, but BASEBALL itself did not exist. Here is a nice site on the history of baseball:

Good lord I hope you're kidding. Do you understand the term "expansion team"?? I know it's been explained to you, I've read the 10 other questions you've posted looking for this. The Pilots/Brewers did not exist until 1968.
