Ok, the Raiders are now 1-2, could have been 2-1 except for a zebra, and there's several other clubs that are winless, or, 1-2 as well, counting the Bears, Chargers, Chiefs, and so on.
If you consider, that the Raiders took it to the Broncos at home, and lost because of a late whistle, and then got past the Browns, why is everyone trying to lump them at dead last?
If you want to blame it on Al Davis, Davis doesnt' even play on the field....he hasn't touched a ball during a game in a coon's age. They have a lot of momentum working off of the brown's win, and so far, they don't have a lot of challenges down the road, with the exception of the Colts, who might be locked into the playoffs by then.
If you're gonna reply something donkeyish, I'll just delete is, so don't bother spewing hate.

Yo i read all this people's comments bout the raiders still sucking? Lol come on these guys are for real Al Davis got Lamont running like a STAR and their offense is tearing the field apart....it just seems that either the D or the O don't show up on the same day. Look for them to put it together midseason and end with a decent record!

You're talking about the Raiders beating the hapless Browns. Let's not get too carried away with the one win... I do hate the whole timeout before the snap. If the head coach wants a timeout, then give him the timeout right there. None of this intention stuff... It cost and (kind of) gave the Raiders a win.

The Raiders defense was pretty decent last season. Offense still stinks, but looks much better than last season when the OL couldn't protect the QB. OT Robert Gallery doesn't look like the complete bust from last season.

As for the Raiders reputation, remember Al Davis wants to be the front and center of the team. It worked great decades ago when he was young and vibrant. Now he looks old and less mentally capacitated in the last ten years.

It doesn't help your standing in the league when you're always trying to sue the city of Oakland and the NFL (it sounds like the days when the USFL sued the NFL and got a one dollar award). Why does every other NFL team sell out their stadiums while the Raiders never do? And remember their stadium is one of the smallest in the NFL at 63,000 seats.

And there's a perception in the league that Davis only hires friends and ex-Raiders... And he never hires the best person for the job like the GM who happens to be himself.

Then you look at the DaMarcus Russell contract talks and how prolonged they became... Lastly, we haven't talked about the Raiders head coaching hires in the last 5years. Lane Kiffin looks like the real deal, but it took 3 lousy hires to get to him... Bill Callahan, Norv Turner and Art Shell.

The Raiders don't deserve respect. It has to be earned. They have been one of the league's worst teams for several years. I have to disagree with your statement saying "the Raiders took it to the Broncos" when Oakland had 73 passing yards (more than half of that was on 1 pass). Oakland had 253 total yards compared to Denver's 441. That's what I call "taking it to 'em".

Sure Jordan ran for 159 yards but that's not too tough against Denver's rush D. You must not have watched that game.....or if you did you were watching through silver and black colored glasses.

The Raiders won't be respected until they start playing.

The Raider were beaten by Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl, not Baltimore, that would be the New York Giants. Look the Raiders obviously have nowhere to go but up. They have a really good defense filled with players who are young and have huge star potential. At this point, McCown or Culpepper starting really makes no difference. Just keep handing the rock to Jordan, who is quitley having a good start to the season. Do that, play great defense, and get jemarcus ready for next year. Trust me, things are on the up and up!

People look down on the Raiders because they used to be labeled "Commitment To Excellence". After being pummeled by Tampa Bay in SB XXXVII, they've established a 15-49 record, which is far beyond excellence. Also, the Raiders fan-base has been frowned upon and stereotyped as nothing but thugs and convicts.

Respect is earned, they've done little to earn any respect yet. Whining about a 'late whistle' does not garner respect especially since the Raiders used the same tactic on Cleveland last week to win a game.

They have no respect for a couple of years now. They need to produce and win on a regular basis to regain some respect. Nobody is going to respect a team that loses by 3 points every week, or a team that can not figure out who the QB is. They have a good chance to get it going this week.

Respect has to be earned. And by the way, Game Rooster, it was Tampa Bay, and not Baltimore who put a hurting on the Raiders, 48-21!

if youre going to credit oakland with a win over cleveland then you must credit oakland with a loss a denver and you cant blame it on the ref because there is evidence and shanahan called the timeout before sebas kicked the ball. so you cant blame the ref if you guys do the same thing to win. and oakland didnt come back against denver as much as denver losing and giving the game away to oakland. there is no respect for oakland because they have been horrible for years and their fans in attendance dont exactly give raider fans a good image.
