Hi Sweetie,
Hmmmm, this depends on a few things. If you and your boyfriend are in a stable commited relationship and have been wanting to have children then I would advise you to tell him right away so he can share in the joy of anticipation and also go along to your ultrasound with you.
However..... if this possible pregnancy is not something that you have planned or would be a troublesome bit of news to the BF, I would highly advise you to wait until you are 100% certain before you cause undue stress to your partner. If it turns out that you are not pregnant I would advise you to tell him afterwards that you had a pregnancy "scare" and that you and he should discuss more effective contraceptive methods. Love and luck--Miss Delanne

If you are 9 or less weeks it was a long shot that you would hear the baby's heartbeat over a doppler anyway. Most babies can't be heard via doppler until 12-15 weeks.
That being said, you should probably tell your boyfriend now so he can go with you to the ultrasound if he can. [Don't beat him up if he can't, a lot of wonderful dads never make it an ultrasound. They're usually the BEST kind of dads...with JOBS during the day!] Also, a baby is a big deal and I'm sure he'll want time to adjust to the idea of being a daddy!
Trust me, I know it can be scary-my son was a *surprize* which was a challenge because you get worried about how he will react. This one was *planned* which actually STILL a challenge because I wanted to tell him in the PERFECT way and also did not want him to be disappointed if we ended up having a miscarriage. There's always a little adrenaline involved in telling Daddy that he's going to be...well, a daddy-but in the end you have to do it someday and it's better to do it sooner rather than later!
Good luck and congrats on your baby!

If he is a supportive person then I would tell him now so,he can be there for you no matter the outcome but,if he is likely to freak out and cause you a great amount of stress I would wait because, you dont need anymore stress than you are already under.

You should tell him now, it's his baby aswell i'm sure he'd like to know he is going to be a dad. And maybe the doctor couldn't hear heartbeat as it may be too early. He should go to the scan with you.

You should tell him if it is even a possibility. If you don't have that kind of honesty in your relationship, I would check your relationship in the first place! Pregnancy is a complex emotional thing, and you need his support, no matter what happens.

it is extremely difficult to hear the heartbeat at nine weeks. i'm surprised your doc would order an ultrasound. i would tell your boyfriend when you think he would want to know. sooner or later?

He should be there with you. You are experiecning this by yourself and I am sure he would be upset to know if he had the opportunity to be there he would. Just tell him and then let him know about your doctors appointments. I am sure he would want to go to them too.

No, you shouldn't wait until the second ultrasound. I think that he should be there for it.
