Sometimes you have no choice. Once I dropped a SBD (silent but deadly) on c crowded escalator. Felt sorry for the person down two steps behind me but I had no choice. Didn't stop to apologise though.

It is okay if you are civilized and move to an area where nobody is around. The campus has lots of open spaces, so it is very feasible.
