Myself and all of my ancestors are German. I came to the US in 1938 and am proud to be an American. English should be the only language of the US!!! I and all three of my sons have served in the US Military!

Yes, my father's side of the family is all German, and my great grandparents on that side came from Germany. On my mother's side, her dad's family is German; her mother's side is American Indian. My grandmother grew up on a reservation.

My mothers' side of the family is German. My grandpa came
over when he was around 7 or so, with his mom and brothers
and a sister and father. They had been living just across the
border in Russia, due to land available there. Due to the rev-
olution, they managed to get boat passage and settled in
North Dakota. My grandma was born in North Dakota. I'm
sorry to say I don't know anything more about her early life.
I wish I'd have asked how she and grandpa met. But it never
occurred to me.

I was told that I had German ancestors on my paternal grandmother's side. My dad died when I was 3 and she died when I was a teen, so I never got all the information. I have been trying to do some research, but I don't know exact details on her and now I don't live in the state she lived in.

Yes, I do on both sides of my family. My great-grandparents were German immigrants and my grandmother's first language was German even though she was born in the US.
