Depends what you start with.... inches, miles, feet. Say you wanted to find out what a 10ft by 10ft room is in square yards. First calculate square feet (10x10) = 100 sq. ft. Since there are three feet in every yard, that means there is one third of a yard in every foot. So you'll be using two multipliers, just like this: 100 sq. ft x 1/3 yd/ft x 1/3 yd/ft = 100/9 sq. yd. (Notice that the sq. ft is canceled by the denominators). Now simplify your mixed number: 11 1/9 sq. yd I teach Math, so you can be sure this is correct.

Width x Length = Square. So 3' x 3' = 9' = 1 sq. yard
I'd do it 15 x 79 and divide by 9. I hope you got a calculator because I don't.

15 x 79 is 1185 square feet. A square yard is 3 feet by 3 feet or 9 square feet. so divide 1185 by 9...
I think it's 131and 2/3 square yards.
Any home supply place can tell you for sure.
Good luck

3 ft = 1 yd
9 ft ² = 1 yd ²
Area = 15 x 79 ft ²
Area = (15 x 79) / 9 yd ²
Area = 395 / 3 yd ²
Area = 132 yd ² (to nearest square yard)

15' x 79' = 1,185 ft².
1yd = 3 ft....1yd² = 3' x 3' = 9ft²
1,185ft² ÷ 9ft²/yd² = 132 yds² (to the nearest).
(Perhaps allow some extra for wastage).

A yard is 3 feet.
Divide both by 3 then multiply your results.
5x26.3=131.67 sq yd

if those measurements are in feet, then multiply each one by 3, and put that little 2 at the top, to be squared?
sorry, i'm not a math genius.
