Really, it's kind of bizarre. We're all real people here, yet I'm never going to hear your voice or see your face, I could have entire relationships with people and never be in actual contact with them. It's just about the most unreal (yet most easily proven) form of communication we have these days. Are we using this as a crutch? Is it odd to suddenly realize what I'm doing? Is asking this stuff worth the points? Should I get out more often?

I guess I was just sitting here like usual when I noticed I was sitting in front of a lighted box with little symbols popping up and I realized it was a conglomeration of messages from people around the world. I felt very small and silly for a moment, and decided to record my moment's feelings for you guys out there.

It seemed weird to me @ 1st but now it's quite natural. I really appreciate being able to share ideas, opinions & observations with ppl all over the world. Also, this way of communication is convenient-- we're able to interact when we have the time & inclination, and our words remain for others to interact with even when we're offline doing other things.
On the other paw, you could have a valid point about this being a kind of crutch. I'm very shy in person.
Love that technology!

It is really kind of cool. We are able to converse with people we will never meet, but still are able to reach out and have a YA relationship. It isn't a crutch, unless you don't have real friends, relationships and conversations.

It is weird but I prefer it in a way. I think as long as you still have face to face interaction with people outside of the computer world, then it's okay.

I have a somewhat deep voice and a thick Appalachian accent. If you could hear me you'd have to keep saying "Huh?" because everything I say sounds like "Well, weeze cummin roun here to play dut wif da been pone."

I use it for entertainment. Right now there is not a lot I could be doing. I'm at work and I have some free time.

Yes to all of your questions, but it's more commendable than odd to be aware of the isolationist aspect of all this.

yea its kinda weird... da curse of modern technology.. i dunno, i mean it's great n everything but it looks like da more connected we are, ironically the more disconnected we get... since ppl can now jus talk to their frens online, i suppose they think it counts as keeping in touch... n then they get more reluctant to actually make plans with their frens and keep in touch for real... i think it's sad!
