Most free nations would not exist if not for the United States. It matters not whether they love or hate us. None of us would be able to sleep at night if not for the police. Yet, how many people hate the police?
We do not need other countries love only their respect and support when we ask for it.

There is a difference in some cases, between the people, and governments . That said:Canada, Japan ,UK,Australia,N.Zealand,Ireland, Italy,Kuwait( sort of), Ivory Coast (they were protesting last year, demanding that we invade THEIR country! ;D) Liberia , Albania, Poland
Huh? Thumbs down? Is that for forgetting Japan? Sorry . Fixed it .
ps(es) jennifer , know what you mean . Much (most ?) of the time , the mention of most locations, requires an explaination. Then they look at me as if I'm crazy, or making it up . Probably our #1 fault (Lack of knowledge, or interest in the rest of the world, except where there's an immediate crisis, involving us.)
jennifer, dragondog ,batfood, where y'all from?

Australia is a close ally of the US. You asked for the truth and straight answers so here goes.... From my travelling experiences a lot of people in the world don't like America for the way they like to dominate the world and their style of getting involved. I don't want to offend you or sound like I am attacking you but outside of America, a lot of people see Americans as quite ignorant about the rest of the world.

The english, australians, new zelanders, and canadians have all been steadfast allies of ours. The french have always had a hand out but have always been willing to bite the hand that feeds when convinient. Not really important since they havent had a military success since Napoleon. We even had to give them back their country at the end of WW II. (we sure didnt want it!)

I don't know where people get this idea that everyone in Europe hates the U.S. No one over there really seems to have anything against the U.S. other than our current president.

I like it here. There are a few things I'd change "if I were king", but all in all it's pretty good. I do think that things are headed in a scary direction, though. Patriot Act, anyone?
