There is no shame in defeat. It is an honor to be nominated. You were considered one of the best, and you may win next time. Always be proud of the effort that you put into the things that you do.

Just congratulate her, and offer her any assistance she might need. Others will see that you are a gracious loser, and admire the fact that you offered to help the winner.

Even in Presidential elections, where candidates spend millions, the one that spends the most is not always the winner. There can only be one winner, even if they deserve to win!!!

Maddison, your a "winner" for the simple fact that you ran for student council. No whining!! People that try to make a difference, always go in with the best intentions and hope for the best outcome. I hope that you still consider her a good friend! If you do, you can still be very much involved!!
The only thing I ever ran for was the ice cream truck when I was younger!!! lol Best to you!!

if you aren't a senior in high school then you will have MANY more times to run for president of the student council...and maybe the next time you WILL win... but do NOT feel down about it---if you did the BEST JOB YOU KNOW HOW TO DO with your campagning, then be PROUD of yourself. and if you raised some good issues, then you have EVERYTHING to be proud of and NOTHING to be sad about.... and don't stop being friends with the person who won... don't let it hurt your friendship...
